Riton is one of the most talented and multi-faceted DJs to emerge from the UK of late. He's remixed everyone from Hercules & Love Affair (their next single) to The Cure, to Holy Fuck and er... Justin Timberlake. He's released original material on Get Physical and Astralwerks. A DJ who avoids the limelight but can hold his own and out-do many of his contemporaries in the techno and electro world he comes to NY for the first time to play a special DJ set for us at FUN.

Zombie Nation aka Florian Senfter is responsible for the mightly Kernkraft 400 and also some of the best electro and techno of the past 10 years including his recent ZZT productions with Tiga. In a market saturated with cheap beats and imitations this guy continues to produce the best sounds in his class.

Poni Hoax are a five man army of bookworm musicians and extremely talented composers whose sound is heavily influenced by Italo Disco while their asethetic, particularly that of front man, Nicolas Ker walks a thin line between Morrissey and Jim Morrisson. Signed to Tigersushi and produced by Joakim these guys are set for bigger things as they support Franz Ferdinand on their return to the fore later this year, and release a much hyped sophomore long player.

And they're all playing at FUN at Studio B on Saturday July 5th!

Time Machine are a forward thinking Dance Rap trio who currently reside in Los Angeles. Their new single "Something We're Becoming ft. Modeselektor are Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary (two pretty awesome names eh?). They're signed to Ellen Allien's Bpitch Control imprint and they've had Thom Yorke guest on their latest record . They play utterly thrilling and refreshing dance music which touches upon techno, hip-hop, dub and glitch and they throw a great live show. They will take you deep and they'll make you sweaty. So come prepared.

Georgian outfit Jjak Hogan, who have released records on the wonderful Rekids label will be playing a live set in support, and our friends Star Eyes and Mathhead from Trouble & Bass will be joining FUN residents Eamon Harkin and Rok One in the booth.

Jahcoozi are a band who were given their first exposure from the one and only John Peel. Since then their unique concoction of glitch, grime, maximal techno and pop melodies have gained fans such as Ewan Pearson and Ellen Allien both who have included their tracks in recent DJ mix compilations. To date they've have limited exposure in the US so we're very excited to be bringing them in to play at FUN this Friday.

Shir Kahn is one of Berlin's hardest working DJs. He's studied, eclectic, experimental yet accessible all at once, a feat which now sees him mentioned in the same breathe as Optimo, Soulwax and The Glimmers. Last year he supported Justice and LCD Soundsytem. This year he brings his trade to the US for the first time playing FUN for his only NY date.

In the spirit of adventure and embracing new things we're continuing to work with new spaces so this Friday's edition of the party will be held at the Knitting Factory in Tribeca, but fear we'll be back at base camp (Studio B) for some exciting upcoming events...

This Friday FUN takes it's operation outside the Studio B mother ship for the first time, and crosses the East River to team up with GBH's Robot Rock party at new hot spot Le Royale in Manhattan.

Playing live will be the band which the NME have described as "The most exciting band to come out of NY in 5 years". Blonde Acid Cult's inspirations clearly sit with early 90's outfits like Primal Scream, Stone Roses, Happy Mondays and The Inspiral Carpets. They're steadily building a reputation for their live show so we're expecting special things from them this Friday and at least a little dose of a Hacienda vibe to proceedings.

FUN residents Rok One and Eamon Harkin will DJing with GBH staples Alex English and Dimitry.

Well Folks,

It's officially been a year since FUN first made it's debut on the Studio B dancefloor. Since then we've managed to bring you a semi-weekly dance party featuring some of the most exciting DJs and up and coming live talent (with the occasional pioneer thrown in for good measure.)

When picking a headliner for our 1 year anniversary party, many different artists and possibilities came to mind. With the line-up that we arrived at, it's safe to say that we've struck gold... We are ecstatic to be celebrating with EGYPTIAN LOVER & NEWCLEUS!

Alongside his contemporaries Afrika Bambaataa and Man Parrish, EGYPTIAN LOVER is considered an innovator of the old-school electro era, among the first wave of producers that fused the provocative funk stylings of Prince and Zapp, with the robotic euro-futurism of Kraftwerk. His sound is a unique mixture of 808 drums, heavy breathing, humor and sexual innuendo. His image and persona are equally outrageous. You have no doubt heard his records being played, whether it be the breakdance classic "Egypt, Egypt" or the comical gigolo anthem "Freak-A-Holic". The last time he performed at Studio B, he had a crowd of more than a thousand party-goers in the palm of his hand - everybody freaking out, mouthing the words to his songs, and smiling from ear to ear. Now, that was just a DJ set. This time around he and his partner in crime JAMIE JUPITER have put together a live show, which promises to be nothing short of epic...

Egyptian Lover will be accompanied by his good friends, and fellow Electro royalty, NEWCLEUS, best known for their dancefloor staples
"Jam on It" & "Computer Age (Push the Button)", both of which made the Top 40 R&B Chart back in their time and continue to get heavy rotation to this day. They were recently seen tearing up the Dante Fried Chicken Show, and now for the first time in 20 years, they take their live show to a proper club.

After a beat driven start to '08, with the old school sounds of Juan Atkins and Grandmaster Flash plus the more contemporary noises of Klever & Tittsworth, FUN take's on a more fractured guitar driven, yet party friendly, sound this week with the return of our very own Radio 4 and the awesome Dragons of Zynth.

Dragons of Zynth's critically acclaimed long player 'Coronation Thieves' sees the band compared with Brooklyn heroes TV on the Radio. They apparently put on a heck of a live show too. They'll be joined by a band we hold a soft spot for ever since they released the first DFA produced 'Gotham' and so it's a pleasure to have Radio 4 back on the Studio B stage.

Without his contributions, the face of dance culture today might be significantly different. This week, along with our good friends GOOD PEOPLES, we keep the party vibe going strong with the closing date of the Kleavage Tour with DJs KLEVER and TITTSWORTH. Don't let his gold-plated grin and neon fiited cap collection fool you - Atlanta's DJ KLEVER most definitely represents substance over style. The Turntablist crown holder is one of the few DJs in the world who can compete with the likes of A-Trak and Craze (in fact he's a member of their crew, The Allies), but he never lets technical trickery get in the way of his main objective: making crowds dance. He regularly rocks big rooms worldwide as well as at his Sloppy Seconds party in the ATL.

While the name sounds like the punch line to a Chris Rock routine, TITTSWORTH is no joke. An accomplished turntablist, his Baltimore Club flavored sets, seamless mixing and club-friendly song selections will drop jaws as well as booties, Back from a worldwide tour of Canada, Thailand, China and Australia, the final date on his itinerary will take place in our neck of the woods - Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

Alongside Q-Bert & Mixmaster Mike, DJ Z-Trip is one of the most advanced and technically proficient DJ's on the planet. He is considered the Godfather of what is now called the mashup, predating the phenomenon by at least 2 years. His collaboration with DJ P, the highly sought after Uneasy Listening, Vol. 1, (Only 2000 copies pressed), was an impossibly tight genre-bending mix of live blends and turntable trickery, which laid down the foundation for what was later achieved by the likes of 2Many DJs and Diplo. Known for his highly entertaining and engaging live sets, he has torn down stages worldwide, from Coachella, to Bonaroo, to the Jimmy Kimmel Show, to opening up for the Rolling Stones. Z-Trip's latest offering, the soundtrack for the videogame All Pro Football 2K8 is out now...

MSTRKRFT need next to no introduction for fans of FUN. A production duo that fuses the energy of rock and roll with the oomph of disco they have two feet firmly planted in punk rock's influential past, and two in dance music's future. MSTRKRFT are the chiefs of the US dance team and can stand firmly shoulder to shoulder with European contemporaries like Justice, Digitalism and the Ed Banger crew. We're very excited to have finally booked them to come play at FUN.

Architecture in Helsinki are a wonderful band from Australia. They play a dance-punk, quirky-psychedelic blend of antipodean party pop something like the 3 way love child of the The Rapture, Hot Chip and Avalanches. This coming Friday they're playing at Studio B supported by the equally wonderful Lo Fi Fnk and Panther. Due to some boring details which we won't waste your time with here these bands are not 'officially' playing the FUN party this Friday. But they are playing at Studio B, the FUN residents will be spinning before, in between and after the bands and the party will continue with free entrance after midnight and a late night performance from Juiceboxxx hot from their tour supporting Bonde de Role. So if you're thinking about a late night dance party come and get crazy with us for free after midnight and if you're in for some awesome live talent come early (doors at 8pm) and then ease neatly into the FUN shenanigans after.

Thanks again to the fine folks at L Magazine for awarding FUN best party and Studio B just about every award in the club section. Next week is CMJ. FUN will be presenting an incredible line up of MSTRKRFT and Z-Trip. And coming soon we have FUN tee-shirts. The designs look awesome. You're going to love them. Awards are funny things. Those who don't win them pretend they're nothing but self-serving PR tools and those that do win try their best to accept them with effortless grace and blase.

Well we're nothing less than chuffed to be awarded Best Party in the inaugural L Magazine NightLife Awards with Studio B winning Best Club, Best Dancefloor, Best Sound System and Best Light System!

The awards are this Tuesday at Lotus before Michael T's Factory party. Eamon Harkin & Rok One will be Djing a short set with June D also in the house to pick up the prizes. This is an open event involving the a host of personality and talent from NY nightlife. RSVP at going.com/nightlifeawards

Like their fellow countrymen 2 Many DJs or the similarly aesthetic Optimo, The Glimmers (or Glimmer Twins as they were previously known before a lawsuit action by The Rolling Stones!) produce sublime dance mixes that have become synonymous with the most exciting DJing experience of the modern clubbing era. They've put out some of the best mix CDs in an otherwise overly-saturated market including the recent Eskimo Volume V and an amazing addition to the FabricLive series.

The last D&D was completely off the rails, and this one should be no different. If our predictions are correct and we believe they shall, this time will be of seismic proportions... DO NOT MISS THIS! People have been kicking themselves in the ass for the last 3 months for not showing up last time... They now know better than to make that same mistake again!

Disco tunes will of course be provided by The Bangers, Eamon Harkin and very special guests NEGROCLASH... Also BONDE DO ROLE will be hanging with us. Why? BRAZILIANS like to skate too!

We're getting quite smug with ourselves at FUN HQ at our fresh found ability to occasionally open the our doors for free whilst still managing to bring you the best musical talent to the Studio B stage and DJ booth. And this week we're feeling particularly self-satisfied with our jam packed schedule of fresh young talent from France and beyond.
